  025 Noisebed / sound-responsive video installation / 2012  

Noisebed is a video installation generated in real-time by custom software. Ambient sound from the exhibition space is captured by a boundary microphone, then analyzed for peaks in amplitude. The louder the sound, the brighter the resulting image as it emerges from high in the corner. The above photo shows the installation in LMCC's temporary gallery space at the Conrad Hotel in TriBeCa, in a group exhibition titled Transforming Function, curated by Melissa Levin and Will Penrose.
